i was radicalized/politically activated when I was in undergrad during the Ferguson Uprising in 2014 by many organizers there and on campus, especially Sarah Carthen Watson and the Native and Indigenous Student Alliance
I tried to understand how change happens through working with the Sustained Dialogue program, eventually getting trained in equity-informed mediation with Resolutions Northwest
I was lucky enough to participate in song circles led by Wendi Moore O’Neal where I learned about the connective and liberatory power of song
I began to share my own songs and art with members of song trust and my first art therapist
I learned a lot about organizing by working with Jewish Voice for Peace and Eye on Surveillance in New Orleans and all the other individuals and organizations trying to make a better world.
I learned how to ground myself by working with Generative Somatics teachers and my practice group: Anna, Linda, Mel and Libby
I learned how to be present in community with my dear friends
